Counseling
Chris Soto is the 11th and 12th grade School Counselor at CHAD. Chris counseled troubled teenagers for seven years at a therapeutic boarding school in Northampton, Massachusetts called The Academy at Swift River. His experiences led to a belief that students should be educated about their social and emotional lives with the same emphasis as math, science, and English. His passion for adolescent well-being led him to Harvard University, where he received a Masters in Human Development and Psychology.
In addition to counseling students, Chris sponsors the Gay-Straight Alliance, the Skateboard Club, and Student Council. Beyond his role at CHAD, Chris teaches Human Development and Psychology to undergraduate and graduate students at Penn. He recently received his doctorate after completing his dissertation, which focused on the formation and maintenance of academically productive student-teacher connections in the classroom. In his spare time, Chris goes to the gym, reads, and watches ESPN.
